Gerd Hesselmann

Gerd Hesselmann founded Hesselmann & Associates tourism consulting group in November 2000 after over 20 years in leading positions in the German and international tourism industry. Of those, he spent eight years as Managing Director of a leading tour operator, five years as CFO of the number three travel agency chain in Germany, six years as President of the German Tour Operator and Travel Agency Association (DRV), and five years as Treasurer of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry (BTW).

During this time, he was also holder of international mandates such as Chairman of the AIT Travel Commission of European Automobile Clubs, Chairman of the Amadeus Travel Agency Advisory Board, Vice President of ECTA, the European Travel agents and Tour Operators Association.

When establishing his own tourism consulting company, he decided to take advantage of his broad and profound experience on the tourism business sector as well as in national and international institutions and to explore his network’s value on his own for the benefit of many destinations and private businesses.
